I absolutely love this place! The sushi is fresh and delicious. The Thai is also very yummy. Don't miss out on the Thai iced tea! Service is great and the decor is fun!

Sushi at Stir Moon is always fresh and delicious. They have a variety of specialty rolls on the menu. Prices are good, the service is great. They also have a full bar with great drink specials. My family frequents Stir Moon at least 2 times a month and each time it has been a great experience. And now they deliver! Score!

yes.. i'm a fan. i came here the first time because it was where my friend and I could meet half way without anyone of us going out of our way for good sushi. and i was hooked. I do have my favorite places... but somewhere in cutler bay when i'm meeting my friend? THIS is the place I choose for sushi. The playboy roll is awesome. I can make a good avocado salad. however i like the way there's is prepared (it's called the avocado crab salad?). It could use some kimchee sauce but no worries.. i just ask for a side of that sauce and mix it in there myself! oh and the servers are ok.. but the host is always checking in on me when i'm there so it makes up for the lack of service when needed.

Ok, this will sound crazy, but they have great key lime pie. My kid orders key lime pie everywhere we go and this is his favorite. And, they have Bubble Tea! Love slurping those tapioca balls up the straw! Their chicken katsu is seriously crispy and delicious. The atmosphere is cool. We've had the sushi and it rocked. Fresh, cold and nice portions. Salmon teriyaki is another winner. Great place - AND you can get American Airlines points by registering your credit card with the airlines. Love that!

i went here after trying numerous thai places in my area. I got teh pad thai which i always get when eating Thai. It was fantastic, i got hot because i love me some spice. It had just the right amount of kick to it. In my opinion if you need pad thai in the Cutler Bay area this is the best you can get at the moment

Really good food. Lots of it. For two people, plan on either two apps and an entree to share (hungry people) or an app and two entrees with definite take home plans for lunch or dinner the next day. Worth it. Just plan on leftovers. We liked it. Ordered the red curry chicken, basil eggplant chicken, spring rolls and the lettuce wraps. Liked the red curry chicken and the eggplant the best. Looked at dessert but saw all that was offered was deep fried. Pretty full anyway....mostly a cursory glance just to see what they had. No opinion on deserts.

Reviews ring the bell; however, go 8 hours before they close. I went there at 9:00pm. I asked at what time did they close, and they said 10:30pm. The host took us to our table, left the menus one on top of the other and left without recognizing us. The waiter was hurrying us with the food to the point of asking a couple of times when to bring us our dessert. This place is not what I expected and they should consider working on their customer service skills.

This restaurant is in my neighborhood but I never went until last night. The decor is very nice, and when you walk in there's a nice guy waiting to seat you. My friends and I had a blast amongst ourselves here. It wasn't packed yet around 6:00pm Saturday night, but when we were ready to leave many people were coming in. Ok so let us get down to the good stuff: FOOD! After all this is why we are here right? Our waitress was a pleasure her name is Ashley. We started out with some appetizers, I got the Tum Yum soup I think it's called I can't remember the second word but I know the first word was Tum with lemon, mushrooms, chives and shrimp. It was nice and hot. My friend got the Miso soup. We also ordered California rolls, and a combination platter that had different sushi rolls to sample they were very good, also we ordered Pad Thai which was very tasty. The Eel sauce was a nice touch. They had the UM and Ohio game on their flat screens and they also had great music playing that made us want to grab our sushi plates and start dancing. You could swear that we had drinks by the way we were acting but we didn't! We had a great time here, the atmosphere was chill and relaxed and the staff was pleasant. Sometimes you get that rush feeling when your wait staff comes around 20 times, but not the case here. I will definitely be back here.

I haven't actually eaten at the restaurant yet...I have only had take-out...but what I did have was delicious. I had a few different rolls and none of them dissappointed me. The prices were average as far as sushi goes and it's location is great. I'll update my review a little more once I have actually eaten there.

I love this place SO much! Service is always great, and the food is excellent. Like others have mentioned, there are two seperate menus for both Thai/Noodle and Sushi. You can order from either though, and mix and match. My husband enjoys their Thai teas and I always order the red curry and tom yum soup. Their sushi is fresh and well prepared, but I think their thai food is a better choice.

I have mixed reviews on this restaurant. When I eat IN, it's wonderful. The sushi is fresh, the pad thai is completely delish. When I take the sushi home, it's tastes odd, a little fishy and like cardboard. I live like 7 minutes away so it's not like it's out for a long time. So my suggestion is - eat in the restaurant. The decor is awesome, I love all the little lights. It's bright and the staff is very friendly.

Stir Moon is one of those restaurants that I tend to go to if I want to go eat out. Their lunch specials (during weekdays only, I believe) are amazing. Ginormous proportions at a great price. A steal. You get both a soup and salad (as opposed to one or the other) plus your entree. The sushi plates never fail to amaze you; they're HUGE! You can customize your noodle soups with a variety of noodles to choose from (rice, egg, thick, thin, etc.) just the way you like it. My favorite so far is the Thai seafood tom yum. However, I did not give the restaurant 5 stars because I don't think all of their entrees are equally amazing. I've had their duck noodle soup once, and I didn't enjoy it, to say at least. Maybe it wasn't suited for my taste. But overall, it's a great restaurant. Their desserts are to die for and their Thai iced tea is delish. I have yet to try everything on menu, but everything (except for the duck noodle soup) that I've had so far is delicious and nicely priced!

Went to this location for lunch. The decor is very modern and chic. We were immediately sat down and given lunch menus. They have great lunch specials which includes your entree, miso soup, and a ginger soy dressing and salad. Most dishes were $ 11.95 I got the pad see ew lunch special. Pad see ew is a Thai dish that includes soy sauce, flat noodles and veggies. You can choose your protein on it as well. I chose to have beef. The dish itself was sweet but it was balanced with the saltiness from the soy sauce. The beef was tender and well done. The appetizers were good too. The miso soup was kinda plain but u like the salad's dressing. It was a little expensive for lunch but I enjoyed it. There isn't that much Asian food to come by here so it's nice to have this restaurant here. Moon is a combination of Japanese and Thai, which to me, are completely different dishes. However I am glad of its existence in south fl

Since Fernando came back this place gets better and better. From the great bartenders to the new decor. I love.this place. They have a sleek new.bar and.with it a new happy hour menu. I had the "I need them all" which is a salad made up of raw tuna, salmon, conch, octopus, cucumber, avocado and kimchee. I have to.say I am not.a kimchee lover but this was well balanced so the kimchee was not over powering. After that I needed something to.munch on while I finished my wine and I.saw spiced peanuts on the HH menu. Had to.try and I am.so .glad I did. They were amazing. They had a hint of lemon and chilies with cilantro. Dioni was the bartender.tonight and he was on point. I am excited about the changes that Moon has made and I am.excited about the changes that are to come. I.hear that hibachi tables are coming in in about three months! The only thing that would make this place complete is.a bit of live.music on.the weekend!

New to the area from Virginia and decided to stop here for lunch and boy I'm glad we did! I wasn't sure how I felt about the place judging the building from the outside. Once inside, my eyes were very pleased with the cleanliness and the sheek decor!!! There isn't much space while waiting to be seated in the front of the house. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because they seemed to be understaffed behind the bar and the manager was actually making our drinks and he was a bit slow. (Stiff and delicious ones I might add). The food was amazing and the presentation was impressive!!!! We liked the place so much we decided to come back that same evening for appetizers and happy hour!!! Our server was very attentive although he didn't seem to be very knowledgeable about the menu.

I work close by and variety is hard to come by in the Southland Mall/Cutler Bay Area. Thankfully Stir does a great job of providing me with good sushi, and delicious Japanese and Thai lunch choices. In general I think the prices are a bit steep and tend to stick to their lunch menu. I tend to go about twice a month or so and have yet to find anything that I don't like there. The interior of the restaurant is decorated well and the service is usually on point. I've never been to this location at night but I think it would make a cute date spot too! Overall I enjoy Stir Moon's food and while it is slightly expensive, you get a lot of food for the price.

I eat sushi here with my family all the time and the fish is always fresh. Thai food is also good and all dishes are reasonably priced, nice atmosphere. I have eaten here at least 40 times and have never had a bad meal.

Cute restaurant that has an asian-retro feel to it. The atmosphere was nice, service was great, and prices were reasonable. The sushi rolls were okay, while the miso soup was delectable! Unfortunately, they dropped the ball on the spicy mayo - a combination of mayo and hot sauce. Normally, you can't even tell there is mayo in the mix (except for the name), but this one tasted like straight up mayo! Not a good combo with sushi. When I reached for my default, wasabi and soy sauce - there was no wasabi on the table. Double whammy! Based on the sushi I would have rated this a 2 (meh, I've had better); however, their Thai food or other dishes may be better. Since the atmosphere and staff was so nice (I gave an additional star), I wouldn't mind coming back to try out a different dish.

One of the best Chirashi I have had in the States! Just happened to find this place on our way to the beach. It is fusion so the Chirashi was not prepared in the traditional Japanese way. Iit has the decorum and beauty nevertheless! Plus, the mouth-watering fresh fresh sashimi... The amount is also generous, I didn't expect it to be that much, but managed to finish the whole portion. :-) Definitely will go back next time I am in this region.

I felt like I had to review Stir Moon because I've been coming here for years now and it's just time. Staff is friendly and since I am a regular, they recognize me and I like that. It's a nice big place with HUGE booths - 6 people for sure. My absolute favorite thing on the menu is something that isn't even Japanese - Vietnamese Pho Noodle Soup with Chicken and Very Thin Rice Noodles. It's the best Pho I've had, and I've had it at the popular Vietnamese restaurants in Miami. It's a humungous bowl ($12.00) enough for two people as a meal for lunch or a light dinner with maybe an appetizer. Playboy Roll is also pretty darn good.

Their list of sushi rolls is seemingly never ending!!! They have many convenient locations and each one lives up to the others. Try the Siam Sea roll and the American Dream roll! Save room for dessert because their tempura fried key lime pie is to die for...mmm!

I have eaten at a lot of Thai and Japanese spots and this one is definitely on my top 5 list! The restaurant inside is very nice, elegant and professional. We were seated quickly, the tables are nice & clean. Our food came extremely quick too (& it was a Saturday so there was a good amount of people eating inside) and everything was delicious! As I said before I've gone to many Thai spots & they have really good prices compared to other spots. I highly recommend trying this spot :)

Great little place close to home! They completely remodeled the place & did a great job. Comfy booths, enough space for the whole family & an area of trendy white couches and sectionals that make you feel like you're enjoying sushi and drinks at home. The new bar is stocked with everything you can want & it looks absolutely beautiful!! The staff is pleasant and the sushi is top notch. We had the Geisha combination, shrimp tempura roll, new strip roll, miso soup and spring rolls and they were all delicious and fresh. We need to get to word out on this place. It's a great spot close to home and they will soon add Hibachi tables!! Can't wait. Go check them out

This was our first time here and I have to say excellent excellent service. When I was done with my food to my surprise a waiter came to our table excused himself and asked to take my plate. Service like this is very hard to find. I also have to say that the food was amazing. We definitely enjoyed the atmosphere and drinks. We will definitely repeat our visit to Moon Thai very soon.

So I've been in South Florida for about a week and half, and got the craving for sushi.....Yelp'd and found this place....... Order: Cali Roll, BBQ eel roll, and a Four Season Roll, which had assorted fish topped with crab meat.....The food was delicious (fish was super fresh)......The price was a bit steep, but acceptable. Service: Was excellent....The manager took my to go order and offered me a soda/water while I waited.....took time to explain what each roll was and difference....gave me a coupon for 20% off my next delivery order.....even when I was leaving offered me a refill on my soda. That kind of service goes a long way. I will be back and I suggest you try it if your in the area

The food here is pretty good an the service is not bad. I like the Thai menu, but it's not the best. The sushi is freaking amazing!! It's a little pricey, but it fills you up.

  • Jacob C.

I ordered delivery from this place yesterday, and though the customer service was friendly, the place only gets a two star because my food was edible, nothing more. The Cali roll was ok, nothing on POC's in the grove, and the shrimp pad thai was stuck together, and had two shrimp. Of the TWO shrimp in my pad thai I had one and had to spit it out because of the foul taste. 20$ later I made the decision to just drive a bit and head to Asian fusion on us1 when I'm in the mood for thai.

After having a not so good experience here, I decided to give Moon Thai another chance. Truthfully, it was the night of the Miami Heat championship game, and my intended destination (Buffalo Wild Wings) was packed wall to wall with Heat fans! I decided to stroll over to Moon Thai, and lo and behold, it wasn't packed yet! We were quickly seated at a table with a perfect view of a nearby TV. Our waitress came over right away. She was friendly and let us know they were having specials on some of the appetizers and mixed drinks! We ordered quite a few appetizers (spring rolls, beef satei, steamed dumplings) and drinks throughout the game. For the main course, we ordered chicken and shrimp pad Thai and the volcano chicken. Everything was tasty, and we ended the night with the fried bananas and Thai donuts! Both desserts were heavenly, but the biggest surprise of the night came when the manager approached me and told me he remembered that I had had a bad experience there and that tonight's meal would be on the house! I'm not sure how he remembered me from 11 months ago, but I thought that was pretty awesome! I will definitely be back!

Yesterday was the first time I have gone to this place and I loved it! May & I went for lunch and right when we walked in they immediately seated us. Took our order and off we gooooooooooo Man the food was delicious, and came in seconds of ordering! We had the dragon rolls, sushimi, and an appetizer that i forgot the name but it was like a doughy rolled with shrimp inside. Yesterday was the first time I had cold Saki, and it was yummmmmy as well. The waiter was fantastic, and she got a nice fat tip, for taking care of us. Awesome location becasue it is by stores, so perfect to go to when done with shopping. I recommend this place! 5 STARS

Quality of their food was not very good. I have their cucumber roll with crab meat which lack in flavor. It felt like the roll was sitting out too long before serving it to me. I had the Duck Curry and that too did not taste great. Ingredients they used and how they cook the dish was not appetizing and did not taste good either.

    (2)
  • Kristen M.

The place is nice and not too pricey. They have a good happy hour of 2-4-1 from a particular list of drinks and a few of the menu items are also on special. The food was good and so was the service. I had the shrimp tempura and I loved how they didn't charge me like the other places do for soy paper or extra sauce. I would def. return if I was in the area!

Upon walking into this joint, I noticed a sign that bragged "Yelp loves us!" Immediately, my expectations were raised. The good news is, they were met! This place hits all the important needs of a consumer. They have amazing food, great service, decent prices, a cool ambiance, and are very clean cut. They have 2 menus: Thai and Japanese. I was in a Japanese mood so, sushi, miso soup, and tuna tataki were my choices. Everything was incredible. Southland mall does not deserve this amazing place. However, I am so happy it is there.

Stir Moon was just OK. I love its location. You have no idea how many times I've found myself that far south and feeling like a sushi lunch is at least a 20 minute drive away. The service was good. My yellow curry wasn't bad, and I was pretty impressed with the boyfriends pad thai dish. I'm never a fan, but it was good enough for me to taste...twice.

    (3)
  • Jessica C.

Fantastic service accompanies flavorful food. The panang shrimp here is one of the best tmeals I've ever eaten. Decadent, creamy and 100% Thai. That that is diligently made and comes from anything but a can. The drinks are delish and reasonable. Hope they open one closer to the airport now as we stumbled on this place by fluke.

Delicious food (a bit pricey but worth it overall) and a staff that puts the "P" in polite. I've never seen such a friendly bunch of waiters and managers. They definitely make you (the customer) feel on top of the world.

Great food, great atmosphere, decent prices. This is a must eat! I've been looking for a good sushi place to eat since this past October and I finally found it! I ate there last night, and I couldn't be happier.

  • Kristen C.

This place is pretty good. It is convenient, nice and cheap. However, I wouldn't get a tempura roll because it ends up being mostly fried batter instead of fish. I like the decor of the place and I'm glad to see it The Ridge.

  • Danya L.

I'm a down south girl, and I've eaten here lots of times. The decor is nice, service is awesome, and the menu is expansive. You could eat there everyday for months and not eat the same thing twice. Very generous lunch specials. I luv the spiced rack of lamb. You get a FULL rack of lamb, perfectly cooked for $20. That's a steal. The clincher for me was that they had Buchanan's scotch at the bar! There is a disconnect with their take out and eat-in service. Take out isn't as generously portioned as the eat in meals.

    (4)
  • Jessica L.

It's hard to come by a decent restaurant in "The Ridge," an area better known for their Applebees, Swap Meet, Gun Shows and Miami Wings. When my parents first took me to Stir Moon, I thought, I'll get a decent meal here. But it was better than decent, the Pad Thai is quite tasty, the Yellow Curry is veg friendly with veggies and tofu and it's really good. I was surprised. They have a huge double menu- half Thai, half Japanese/Sushi. It's a gem south of 184.

Have lunched here twice. First time in April service was ok, pad thai delicious & sushi was average. Stopped by this week and although take out was ready in minutes I found a hair in my miso soup... ugh...

Ordered dinner from there Friday night for delivery. This was the second time I had ordered from there for delivery and both times were in time. I commend them for good estimates. The food is always tasty. Though the rice that comes with the main entrees is skimpy. I have ordered from both their Japanese and Thai menus and haven't been disappointed yet. You go Stir Moon...I will be ordering from you again soon.

Stir moon has really good pad thai, ans sushi. I cannot vouch for anything else yet because I havent tried it. They are now implementing happy hour and drink special which is pretty cool. If you are in the mood for some thai food try out them out. Remember this is a franchise so there are various locations

Excellent sushi place in the heart of Cutler Bay. Food is well prepared and extremely good. Restaurant is nicely furnished and everything is in tip top shape. Waitress was competent, but not great. Sushi chefs are friendly. Big thumbs up!

I am impressed at the expansion of Stir Moon, they are everywhere now! In the Southland mall on a hot friday and craving something not fried and somewhat healthy, Stir Moon met my needs. Located beside the TJ Maxx, the place was buzzing with people around lunch time. Sat at bar..sushi chefs whose name elude me right now...were extremely friendly and efficient, hands moving non-stop to churn out rolls after rolls. I had the sloppy joe's roll...which was pretty good. They had a special..fire conch..which alot of people ordered. Shall try it next time. Would definitely go back when I am that down south with a need for good sushi. Tip-bits: Friendly sushi chefs, they made a couple beside me a special roll. Sit at the bar for possible surprise! :) Extensive menu, good for big groups

I was pleasantly surprised to find a restaurant this far south from Miami listing Nonya Chinese food in its menu. The menu includes a fusion of pacifc rim asian fair, do it yourself stir fry (pick your vegies and talk to the chef preparing it with your choice of sauce), sushi bar, limited dimsum, and great standby desserts - sticky rice & mango, caramalized banana foster, tempura cheesecake. I was more than surprised when service seemed personal and above average. The decor is fun loving and reminds me of the energetic asian bistro athmosphere in Hong Kong and Singapore. When in the area I 'll go back and try more of the dishes. This is a little jewel for the area and should be encouraged. By the way i just learned their also located in the Gables, Weston & coming soon Dadeland.
